Teachers and professional staff are assigned, respectively, to be members of the interprofessional team according to their specialty, work experience, school needs, etc. Several interprofessional teams make decisions together to support students' learning and growth. 校內所有教師及專責人員,均按其專長、經驗、學校需要等,分別成為其中一跨專業組的成員。各跨專業組內教師及專責人員共同決策,共同支援學生的學習及成長。
教與學
1.Our school implements a co-teaching strategy, where every lesson is conducted by two teachers to deliver diverse activities that cater to learner diversity.2.Our school focuses on teacher’s professional development for enhancing their teaching efficiency. We have Staff Development day, Retreat Day and Sharing Meetings, etc.3.Our school encourages teachers to learn from each other, and creates a learning atmosphere for teachers through peer observation lessons.4.We encourage our students to use Information Technology to enhance their learning efficiency. At the same time, students are taught to cultivate a good habit in using portable devices without getting addicted.5.We focus on cross-professional cooperation. Speech therapists, occupational therapists, social workers and nurses of our school all working together to provide all-round development for our students.Our school provides a comprehensive education for students. The class teachers and subject teachers not only deliver knowledge-based teaching but also integrate Student Guidance and Discipline services, moral education, civic education, and other support into the curricular design. With the support of class teachers, therapists, social workers, and dormitory staff, students can apply and extend their knowledge, skills, and values beyond the classroom.1. 實行「協作教學」,每課節均由兩位教職員共同授課,以推行多元化教學活動,並照顧個別差異;2. 著重教職員專業發展,設立教職員發展日、退修日、分享會等,提升教學效能;3. 推行「同儕觀課」,讓教師之間互相學習,建立學習社群氛圍;4. 鼓勵學生善用資訊科技學習,提高學習成效;同時培養良好使用習慣,不沉迷濫用;5. 著重跨專業協作,透過與言語治療師、職業治療師、社工、護士合作,令學生有均衡全人發展。本校為學生提供全面的培育,在班級經營制度下,班主任連同科任老師除教學外,亦兼顧統籌學生的訓育、德育及公民教育等工作。班主任協同治療師、社工和宿舍部,協力把學生學習的知識,技能及價值觀拓展至家中。
支援輔導服務
Our school closely follows the goal of helping students establish positive behaviors, explore their self-potentials, encourage participation in class affairs, and develop their talents. We handle students' misconduct based on their individual differences and characteristics. We review each problem and evaluate its severity on a case-by-case basis. The class teachers conduct case meetings with dormitory parents, social workers, therapists, and educational psychologists to discuss the student's behavioral patterns from different perspectives. Finally, the team suggests and implements various strategies to improve the student's behavior.In addition, we have teaching assistants who support our classes. They provide assistance to non-Chinese speaking students in enhancing their Chinese language skills by supporting teachers in the classroom, co-teaching, individual education programs, and cross-subject Chinese learning.Some of our students have physical disabilities and require rehabilitation and nursing care at school. Our school has three nurses in the day school, one occupational therapist, and outsourced physical therapy services. They provide care for our students in both the school and dormitory settings, which includes rehabilitation training. The social workers, dorm parents, and class teachers collaborate to support the students' all-round development.本校關注學生的良好行為建立,發掘個人特質,鼓勵學生參與班本事務,發展個人亮點。本校按學生個別差異及特質處理不尋常的行為,視乎問題的性質和嚴重程度,由班主任、宿舍家長、社工,治療師及教育心理學家召開個案會議,以多角度探討學生的行為模式,從而計劃不同方案跟進。另外,透過教學助理入班支援、協作教學、個別學習計劃及跨學科中文學習等模式,加強非華語學生的中文學習,從而讓他們學好中文。本校學生部份兼具身體上障礙,需要復健及護理上的照顧,本校現有三位日校護士及一位職業治療師,並以外購形式備有物理治療服務,分別在學校及宿舍照顧學生,提供復健訓練。社工、宿舍家長及班主任亦需參與,支援學生的全面成長。
學業及學業以外的表現
Our teachers implement various teaching methods, such as situational learning, activity-based teaching, Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH), and procedure analysis. These methods help students acquire basic abilities in self-management, social skills, communication skills, and emotional development.Our students are given opportunities to participate in visual art and performance activities. Additionally, our school is equipped with multiple sports facilities that allow students to practice various sports.本校教師透過不同的學習情境、活動教學、結構化教學及工序分析等的教學方法,讓學生能建立基本的自我管理能力、社交技巧、溝通技能及情意方面的發展。藝術範疇方面,學生均有機會參與視覺藝術及表演藝術活動;本校亦設有不同的運動場地,供學生進行不同形式的體育運動。
課程政策
Our school has students with intellectual disabilities, including mild, moderate, and severe levels. The principle of curricular design follows a "same structure" approach. We design the curriculum of main subjects based on a common theme for each unit. The teaching materials for the main subjects are then adjusted at different levels to cater to learner diversity.We have classes with 'structured teaching' to enhance learning effectiveness. Students typically learn individually or in groups following a specific learning procedure. Structured teaching is provided for students with moderate or severe intellectual disabilities. It integrates teaching and learning modes into two categories: 'procedure' and 'theme'. Structured teaching goes beyond the traditional limitations of subjects to cater to learner diversity.本校涵蓋輕中嚴三個智障程度,在課程設計方面以「同一架構」為原則,以共同單元主題為主軸設計主科課程。主科以分層形式編寫多個不同能力級別的學習材料,以配合各班級學生學習能力和需要。設有「結構化教學」班級,學生以個別或小組形式按流程學習,以提高學習果效。中嚴度小學班設有「流程」及「主題」等統整教學模式,打破科目框架限制,整合學生學習經歷,照顧個別差異。
課外活動
We fully promote the SPM830 program throughout the planning of our regular school year and school activities. We offer over ten learning activities for students, including service learning and physical fitness activities. After-school and summer activities are also available, and the school continues to introduce various activities such as swimming, juggling, soccer, dance training, ABL, and VRL to provide students with diverse learning experiences.Additionally, the school provides platforms for students to showcase their learning. We encourage students to demonstrate their talents and learning achievements by participating in different competitions, such as performing during Parent's Day and Community Fun Day, serving as emcees for school events, participating in the Hong Kong Special Olympics Divisional Track and Field Games, Hong Kong Special Olympics Swimming Competition, Adaptive Sports Day, Inter-Mild-Schools Bocce Ball Competition, HongChi Cup Soccer Tournament, and SEN Tag Rugby Invitation Tournament, among others."The rooftop farm allows our students to participate in agricultural activities. Students learn to loosen the soil, raise and care for seedlings. They can enjoy nature and experience the joy of harvesting.規劃全年恆常的課時及學時活動,全面推展 SPM830計劃,為學生提供共十多個學習活動,當中包括服務學習及健康體魄活動。設有課後及暑期活動,學校持續引入不同的活動如游泳、雜耍、足球、舞蹈訓練、ABL和VRL,為學生提供多元化學習經歷。此外,學校提供平台讓學生展示所學,鼓勵學生透過參與不同的比賽展現才能及學習成果,如:家長日和社區同樂日演出、學校活動司儀;香港特殊奧運會分區田徑賽、香港特殊奧運會游泳比賽、展能運動會、全港輕度學校地壺球比賽、匡智盃足球賽、特殊教育學生帶式欖球邀請賽等等。此外,本校亦設有天台農莊,為學生們提供農地進行耕作活動。讓學生們能夠經常親親大自然,嘗試親自開墾土地、培育幼苗和日常照料。最後收成農作物,體驗農耕的樂趣。
資訊科技支援

轉助醫療服務
The therapist will assess the student's gross and fine motor skills, coordination, sensory reception and processing (including the vestibular sense, tactile processing, and proprioception), motor planning, verbal and non-verbal communication abilities, and swallowing ability. Individualized rehabilitation plans are created based on each student's performance and needs, and therapy is conducted on an individual basis, in small groups, or in class. If necessary, the therapist will modify the surrounding environment or provide appropriate assistive activities or communication tools for the students. This will improve the students' abilities in activities, attention, communication, reading and writing, social skills, and cognitive abilities, as well as enhance their adaptation to learning and life, and improve their learning efficiency.The school nurses and dormitory nurses provide regular healthcare and emergency healthcare services for our students. Regular healthcare includes routine body checks, oral medication administration, and various vaccinations. In case of emergencies, the nurses handle student illnesses and provide first aid for accidents. The nurses closely follow the latest guidance and recommendations on infectious diseases from the government. They assist our school in formulating and updating relevant prevention measures to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.Our school therapists and nurses organize seminars and activities as necessary. They also regularly communicate with parents and arrange for them to observe their child's therapy sessions at school. This allows parents to receive tailored advice on how to train and support their child at home.治療師會評估學生大小肌能活動及協調、感覺接收及處理(前庭平衡覺、觸感處理、本體覺)、動作計劃、口語及非口語溝通能力和吞嚥能力,按個別學生表現及需要訂立個別化的復康計劃,以個別、小組或入班治療的形式進行。如有需要,治療師會改變周圍的環境,或提供適當的輔助活動或溝通工具予學生,從而改善學生的活動能力、專注力、溝通能力、讀寫能力、社交能力及認知能力,並提升他們適應學習及生活的能力和學習效能。護士團隊為學生提供恆常性及緊急性的護理服務。恆常性的護理服務包括監察學生健康發展、照顧學生服藥需要、各項年度保健服務和各種防疫注射活動。而緊急性的護理服務包括護理學生不適、受傷等突發情況。護理部亦會緊密留意政府關於健康及傳染病的消息及指引,制訂及更新校內各項預防措施,致力保持校園清潔及衛生。治療師及護士亦會按需要舉辦合適家長的講座和活動,與家長聯繫或安排家長到校觀察學生於治療課的情況,以了解如何在家配合訓練學生。
